Bhim Pakora is a historical attraction located at a distance of about 2 km from Gandhi Chowk in Lansdowne. There are two large stones one above the other in a perfect balance. Above rock can be moved by a single finger but never fells down even after push by both hands.
Bhim Pakora gets its name from Mahabharata hero Bhim, the second Pandava brother. It is believed that Bhim (the mythological characters from the Hindu epic, the Mahabharata) placed one rock on top of the other and is so well balanced that it never topples. It is believed that during the period of exile, the Pandavas stopped here and cooked food at this location.
