Dhanaulti is a picturesque hill station and known for its quiet and serene ambience, lies on the way from Chamba to Mussoorie. It is situated 24 km (15 miles) from the popular hill station of Mussoorie, and 29 km (18 mi) from Chamba.
Dhanaulti is known for its quiet environs amidst the alpine forests of Deodar, Rhododendron and Oak. and surrounded by towering mountains, tall trees and green valleys.
Dhanaulti also has a religious significance. Famous Surkanda Devi temple where Lord Shiva dropped the remains of Goddess Sati, is situated here. The Dashavatar Temple, Chandrabadani and Kunjapuri temples are the another famous temples.
The Eco Parks started by the Uttarakhand Forest Department are also a popular tourist attraction. It is surrounded by deodar forests. Eco huts are available in eco park for accommodation. Apart from that there are two more parks in Dhanaulti Amber and Dhara at a distance of 200 meters.
Potato farms, Chamba, New Tehri Township, Barehipani and Joranda Falls, Deogarh Fort, and Matatila Dam are some of the other tourist hotspots located nearby.
