Kausani is situated in Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand at an altitude of about 1890 mts above the sea level. Kausani lies on the atop the ridge amidst dense Pine trees. It oversees the Someshwar valley on one side, Garur and Baijnath Katyuri valley on the other side.  Important Himalayan peaks like Nandakot, Trishul, Chaukhamba, Panchchuli and Nada Devi are easily visible from here.
